This splendid large-scale apartment house, built circa 1906, accommodated as many as fifteen separate households. Catering to a short-term, mostly professional clientele, early residents included a professor of literature, a music teacher, an attorney, an optician, a physician, and several business owners. During the later 1920s, pioneer bridge builder Obert Peppard, who built the first bridges across the Clark Fork River, was proprietor. A grand Roman entry arch highlights the Classical Revival style façade, while fashionable Chicago windows with stained glass transoms illustrate a significant stylistic transition. Today the well-maintained landmark, remarkably unchanged in both appearance and function, firmly anchors the district’s eastern edge.","sponsor":null,"accessinfo":"Private","lede":"","website":"","related_resources":["<a href=\"https://npgallery.nps.gov/NRHP/GetAsset/a15113cd-32cb-4b47-8f54-77b2b3501f4b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read about the Missoula Southside Historic District</a>","<a href=\"https://npgallery.nps.gov/NRHP/GetAsset/111d2a99-402f-4e7c-8cd3-d01ab92887d1/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">See photos of the Missoula Southside Historic District</a>"],"factoids":[],"files":{"https://mail.historicmt.org/files/fullsize/4745477f8d56517de409e73fe3747e70.jpg":{"id":3167,"mime-type":"image/jpeg","title":"Rozale Apartments","description":"Rozale Apartments.
