In 1929, Iarussi razed the older shops and constructed the present building. Financially disabled in the stock market crash later that year, Iarussi was unable to afford occupancy himself. He leased part of the commercial space and sold the remainder. The Yugoslavian families of Yelich and then Thiel ran a saloon in the north portion until 1985, while various businesses occupied the additional space. Polychromatic brickwork, a recessed double entry, original transom glass, and intact commercial glazing form a superior example of 1920s vintage architecture.","sponsor":null,"accessinfo":"Private","lede":"","website":"","related_resources":["<a href=\"https://npgallery.nps.gov/NRHP/GetAsset/f8b08e86-d03b-4868-9cc0-def05e2655c1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read about the Red Lodge Commercial Historic District</a>","<a href=\"https://npgallery.nps.gov/NRHP/GetAsset/839e62c4-1039-4929-a4ca-251b9845a691/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">See photos of the Red Lodge Commercial Historic District</a>"],"factoids":[],"files":{"https://mail.historicmt.org/files/fullsize/5835ec64b21b2a89502e8dc6adca3b68.jpg":{"id":610,"mime-type":"image/jpeg","title":"Iarussi Building","description":"Still image capture of the Iarussi Building, Red Lodge, Montana.
